Carvoeiro is very popular for family holidays

Carvoeiro is a lively fishing village which has become increasingly popular during recent years, whilst retaining its charm and character. The fishing boats come and go, and fresh fish and locally produced fruit and vegetables can be purchased from the markets. The area offers a wide selection of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. Locally produced pottery and crafts are sold in shops in the centre of town and on stalls in the square. During the summer the square is the venue for live music and dancing. The beaches along this particular stretch of coast are second to none and many offer a variety of water sports.

There are plenty of shops in the town for your everyday needs.. There is also a big Intermarché on the Lagoa road on the outskirts of Carvoeiro for even more choice.

The town beach, Praia do Carvoeiro is a beautifully sheltered sandy bay and spreads out just in front of the square with cliffs protecting it on either side. There are bars and cafés ideally placed around the square to still enjoy the view when you leave the beach!
